Le basculement de zones géographiques entières (Middle West, Nouvelle-Angleterre) expliquent la victoire de Trump, qui continue sur sa lancée en ayant remporté les 6 élections partielles depuis le 20 janvier… Bref panorama des basculements :

Trump a su gagner le cœur de l’Amérique, celle des états ruraux, mais aussi celui du prolétariat blanc des Grands Lacs. Les Présidentielles 2016 confirment la tendance et est annonciatrice à terme de plusieurs basculements :
