Royaume-Uni – Un horrible attentat a frappé Londres samedi soir : trois terroristes à bord d’une camionnette ont foncé dans la foule qui déambulait sur le London Bridge puis ils ont attaqué des passants au couteau, faisant sept morts et 48 blessés, avant d’être abattus par la police.
Cet attentat est le troisième en Grande-Bretagne en moins de trois mois.
Les policiers ont été appelés à 22h08 locales (23h08 chez nous) pour signaler une camionnette fonçant sur la foule sur le pont de London Bridge. Un femme travaillant pour la BBC, Holly Jones, a indiqué qu’elle avait vu une camionnette blanche se déporter sur le trottoir et heurter plusieurs personnes. La camionnette blanche a fini sa course dans la clôture entourant la cathédrale de Southwark. Trois hommes sont sortis de la camionnette, armés de couteau, et se sont précipités pour poignarder des personnes, notamment des clients des bars et restaurants proches, dont les terrasses étaient pleines.
Les policiers ont abattu les terroristes dans les huit minutes suivant le premier appel à la police. « Les suspects portaient ce qui ressemblait à des vestes explosives, qui se sont révélées fausses », a précisé la police.
Quatre Français se trouvaient parmi les personnes blessées lors de l’attentat de Londres.
