Pour lui, les habitants d’Alep n’ont pas « pas été exterminés ».
« C’est 35.000 morts, c’est 35.000 morts dans la population civile de trop. Je rappelle qu’Alep, c’était 3 millions d’habitants avant ». Concrètement, le député juge que la France noircit le tableau. « À la sortie, on constate qu’il y a 15% de la ville qui est totalement rasée, on a 20% de la ville qui est bien abîmée – mais les bâtiments sont récupérables – et ça veut dire qu’il y a 65% de la ville qui est intacte. »
