Italie – Dans le cadre d’une campagne de promotion de la lecture parmi la jeunesse, le ministre italien de l’Education a commandé une étude portant sur le classement des lectures préférées des jeunes.
3,5 millions d’élèves, représentant 138.000 classes d’écoles primaires, collèges et lycées, ont été invités à répondre à un questionnaire.
La surprise, c’est que Mein Kampf, le livre d’Adolf Hitler, apparaît parmi le top 10 des lectures préférées des élèves italiens.
Comment expliquer ce résultat ? Simple provocation d’adolescents ? Difficile d’imaginer que cela suffise à infléchir à ce point une telle étude.
A trop en faire au sujet des « heures les plus sombres de l’Histoire », et à force d’accuser tout opposant de fasciste ou de nazi, l’effet inverse à celui recherché pourrait donc être obtenu.
En témoigne le succès qu’a connu un grand quotidien italien en accompagnant un matin son journal d’un exemplaire d’une traduction annotée de Mein Kampf.
