Alain Juppé a réagi sur Public Sénat aux comparaisons entre l’élection présidentielle américaine et la prochaine élection présidentielle en France : « La façon dont certains essaient de récupérer ce qui s’est passé aux Etats-Unis est ridicule. Je ne suis pas Hillary Clinton. Et qui est Trump chez nous ? ».
Celui qui aimerait être comparé à Donald Trump aujourd’hui, c’est Nicolas Sarkozy, même si ce dernier soutenait Hillary Clinton avant que le résultat des urnes ne soit connu. Jamais embarrassé par un retournement de veste, Sarkozy prétend maintenant incarner en France le refus de la pensée unique et surfer sur la vague Trump.
Mais qu’en pense Donald Trump ? Interrogé le mardi 26 juillet 2016 au sujet de Nicolas Sarkozy, Trump avait répondu : « Je vais être très clair : je n’apprécie guère l’ancien président de la République de France. Je n’éprouve pas de compassion pour cet homme qui se pose aujourd’hui en victime. (…) Il (Nicolas Sarkozy ) doit être condamné pour avoir aidé les terroristes à s’installer en Libye et pour avoir déstabilisé le monde »….
