Allemagne – Deuxième revers consécutif pour la CDU d’Angela Merkel qui a enregistré dimanche son plus mauvais résultat lors d’élections régionales à Berlin.
C’est bien entendu l’immigration qui était le sujet majeur de cette élection. La politique de la chancelière allemande en faveur de l’accueil de centaines de milliers d’immigrés a été une nouvelle fois sanctionnée. Le parti Alternative pour l’Allemagne (AfD) en sort grand gagnant en faisant son entrée au parlement régional avec un score de 14%.
La CDU s’effondre à 17,5%. Le parti social-démocrate (SPD) recule lui aussi à Berlin à un niveau d’après-guerre historiquement bas avec moins de 22% des voix, tout en restant premier parti de la ville.
Le maire de Berlin, ville cosmopolite, avait pourtant cherché à épouvanter les électeurs, affirmant qu’un score supérieur à 10% pour l’AfD serait « interprété dans le monde entier comme le signe d’une renaissance de l’extrême droite et des nazis en Allemagne ». Mais cela n’a pas empêché les Berlinois de sanctionner les anciens partis.
L’AfD dépasse les 20% dans certains quartiers de l’est de Berlin et pèsera sur les décisions au quotidien de plusieurs mairies d’arrondissement. Sa direction a salué « un résultat fantastique » dans « une ville aussi à gauche que Berlin ».
A un an des prochaines élections législatives, le parti de la chancelière est menacé d’une gigantesque débâcle, et le dernier maire CDU de Berlin, Eberhard Diepgen, a demandé de toute urgence une « droitisation » de son parti. Difficile de croire que cela suffira à berner plus longtemps les Allemands.
