La quenelle – ce geste antisystème popularisé par l’humoriste Dieudonné – continue d’occuper la scène sportive. L’Union européenne de football (UEFA) a ouvert une enquête concernant un joueur de l’équipe belge, Omar Rahou, qui aurait célébré un but par une « quenelle » lors d’un match des championnats d’Europe de football en salle mardi dernier à Anvers. C’est en tout cas ce qu’a indiqué vendredi la fédération belge.
« C’est principalement l’UEFA qui traitera cette affaire », a déclaré Stefan van Loock, porte-parole de la l’URBSFA.
Omar Rahou, 21 ans, a inscrit le seul but de la Belgique lors de la défaite de cette équipe, 1-6, contre la Roumanie au 1er tour de l’Euro, et aurait célébré son but par une « quenelle ». Les images du geste ont été immortalisées par les caméras de la RTBF et sont à découvrir en vidéo (à partir de 1’30).
« De notre côté, nous allons nous entretenir avec le joueur. Essayer de déterminer dans quelle mesure il a réalisé ce geste volontairement, en connaissance de cause », a poursuivi le porte-parole de l’Union belge de football.
Par ailleurs, la toute récente Ligue Belge contre l’Antisémitisme a déjà eu une rencontre avec Steven Martens, le CEO de l’Union Belge.
Depuis plusieurs mois, de nombreux sportifs ont posé en position quenelle tandis que Manuel Valls faisait de tout cela une affaire d’Etat.
L’affaire n’est visiblement pas close !
