Halal Events est un organisme communautaire salafiste implanté aux Pays-Bas et surveillé par les services policiers. Il fait en ce moment parler de lui en Belgique pour avoir organisé à Trois-Ponts, en province de Liège un week-end dans un gîte rural avec sauna et jacuzzi.
Un imam salafiste accompagnait le groupe qui a organisé quelques jeux de guerre dans les bois avec des répliques d’armes classées « airsoft ».
A la suite d’un reportage alarmant de Télévesdre, le bourgmestre Françis Bairin se confond en déclarations désolées :
« Nous avons été mis devant le fait accompli »
« J’ai été mis au courant vendredi matin par un mail de la police locale qui me faisait part de l’occupation par une trentaine de personnes d’un gîte à Saint Jacques dans le cadre d’un rassemblement salafiste, et que la surveillance était assurée par la police fédérale et par la police zonale. Je n’ai jamais été au courant préalablement et je n’ai jamais cautionné ce genre d’événement, d’autant que nous avions rencontré au mois d’octobre le propriétaire suite à deux organisations par le passé, lequel s’était engagé à ne plus accueillir de groupes de ce genre. Nous avons été, la police et moi-même, mis devant le fait accompli ».
Hallal Events avait déjà loué les lieux il y a 2 ans.
