Sir Richard Dearlove est l’ancien chef du MI6, service secret britannique.
Lors de l’émission « World On the moove » de la BBC, cet officier de renseignement a annoncé que l’Europe fera face à une «révolte populiste» si elle ne met pas fin à l’afflux d’immigrés. Or, au stade actuel, les prévisions considèrent que des millions de nouveaux immigrés vont affluer en Europe au cours des cinq prochaines années.
« Si l’Europe ne peut pas agir de concert pour convaincre une majorité importante de ses citoyens qu’elle peut maîtriser sa crise migratoire alors l’UE se trouvera à la merci d’un soulèvement populiste, qui est déjà en gestation » a-t-il déclaré.
Sir Richard Dearlove a également mis en garde contre le fait de dispenser les ressortissants turcs de l’obligation de détenir un visa pour voyager en Europe. L’ancien directeur des services secrets britanniques a comparé cet accord avec la Turquie au fait de stocker de l’essence à côté d’un feu.
