Un scandale d’attouchements sexuels sur enfants éclabousse la plus grande yeshiva du village hassidique de Satmar de Kiryas Joel, dans l’état de New-York.
Deux vidéos tournées en caméra cachée montrent le directeur principal de ce centre d’étude de la Torah et du Talmud caressant et embrassant des petits garçons. Les faits se déroulent dans le bureau directeur de cette école.
La mise en ligne de la première vidéo avait entraîné l’ouverture d’une enquête de police. L’individu est le principal de l’Académie talmudique unie, une école d’éducation primaire et secondaire qui compte 6 000 élèves, dans le village de Satmar à Orange County, New York.
Il s’agit d’un rabbin bien connu et très respecté dans la communauté hassidique.
Les personnes qui ont diffusé ces vidéos ont déclaré que leur motivation est avant tout de protéger les enfants de la communauté contre les abus sexuels.
L’un d’eux, Boorey Deutsch, lui-même juif hassidique, a déclaré qu’il se déoule tant d’abus sexuels sur enfants dans cette communauté qu’il y a moyen d’écrire plusieurs livres sur le sujet.
