Le pape François cultive une religion vraiment très, très, personnelle… Surprendre par la nouveauté semble être le pain quotidien de sa pensée et de ses actions.
Il y a quelques mois, en Italie, le journaliste athée Eugenio Scalfari, vous savez l’ami du pape, avait fait un coming-out détonnant en révélant que le pape François lui avait demandé de « ne pas se convertir ». On pouvait croire, par bienveillance, que cette étrange admonition de la part du pape actuel était une exception, due à la personnalité trempée du journaliste.
Et bien, non ! Voici qu’est sorti en France, un livre d’un jeune français, Victor Grèzes, intitulé « Je suis athée, croyez-moi ». Où il est question d’athéisme, bien sûr, de laïcité évidemment, de coexistence interreligieuse forcément, mais également du pape François qui figure d’ailleurs sur la page de couverture. N’est-il pas le meilleur atout pour vendre ce livre…
L’auteur raconte sa brève entrevue avec le pape François, lors d’un tour du monde interreligieux avec son association laïque Coexister : « Il est très intéressé par notre démarche et nous demande de nous présenter un à un. Lorsque j’évoque mon athéisme, il me regarde droit dans les yeux, m’attrape fermement le bras droit et me dit en souriant : « Tu es athée ? C’est parfait, tu es mon nouvel ami, ne change surtout pas. »
