Etats-Unis – L’Université du Tennessee à Knoxville veut bannir l’aspect religieux et même culturel des célébrations de Noël. Ni crèche ni souvenir que c’est la Nativité du Christ qui est fêtée… « Vous avez le droit de célébrer Noël pour autant que ça ne soit ni religieux ni culturel. » Mais que fêteront-ils dans ce cas ? La fête des sapins ? La célébration des boules ? La société de consommation ? La promotion de Coca-Cola ? L’obsession de déchristianisation est de plus en plus évidente aux Etats-Unis, comme en Europe, alors même que Barack Obama célébrait il y a quelques jours à la Maison Blanche la fête juive de Hanouccah.
L’Université du Tennessee a donc publié 10 recommandations sur son site Web pour aider les employés à célébrer Noël… sans parler de culture ni de religion. Recommandation 5 : « Encouragez les employés à apporter de la nourriture qui reflète leur religion et leur culture. Utilisez ces célébrations comme une opportunité pour partager nos différentes cultures. » Ce qui signifie qu’à Noël les musulmans ont le droit de célébrer leur culture, les bouddhistes ont le droit de célébrer leur culture, les juifs ont le droit de célébrer leur culture… mais pas les Américains de souche chrétiens !
