Selon le FBI, des attaques terroristes sur le modèle de celles de Paris pourraient être planifiées à Rome et à Milan. Le FBI a envoyé une note de sécurité à ce sujet à l’ambassade américaine à Rome.
Cette note affirme que «les groupes terroristes pourraient utiliser des méthodes similaires utilisés dans les récents attentats de Paris».
«Les autorités italiennes sont conscientes de ces menaces», est-il précisé.
Le FBI indique que la basilique Saint-Pierre à Rome, la cathédrale de Milan et La Scala pourraient constituer des cibles d’attentats. «Des lieux généraux» comme les églises, les synagogues, les restaurants, théâtres et hôtels ont également été listés comme des «cibles potentielles» à Rome et Milan.
Cinq suspects ont également été signalés aux autorités italiennes. La télévision italienne publique a confirmé que le FBI avait transmis des informations inquiétantes aux autorités italiennes.
700 soldats ont été déployés dans les rues de Rome depuis les attentats de Paris.
