Les autorités tunisiennes ont affirmé lundi que deux soldats avaient été tués et quatre blessés lors d’affrontements avec des jihadistes dans un massif montagneux du centre-ouest de la Tunisie indiquent.
« Lors d’une opération de ratissage, des terroristes retranchés sur le mont Sammama ont tiré sur nos soldats et, après un échange de tirs, deux militaires sont tombés en martyrs et quatre ont été blessés », a indiqué, le 12 octobre, Belhassan Oueslati, porte-parole du ministère tunisien de la Défense.
À l’en croire, une unité de l’armée tunisienne effectuait une opération de recherches à la suite de l’enlèvement dimanche d’un berger près du mont Sammama, dans la province de Kasserine.
Ce massif est voisin du mont chaambi, considéré comme la principale base arrière du maquis jihadiste et situé près de la frontière algérienne.
Depuis la révolution de 2011, la Tunisie fait face à une augmentation des attaques jihadistes qui ont coûté la vie à plusieurs dizaines de militaires, de policiers et de gendarmes.
