Le Patriarche copte orthodoxe Tawadros II serait menacé par un attentat djihadiste.
Après l’attentat qui a coûté la vie au Procureur général, Hisham Barakat, les forces de sécurité égyptienne ont renforcé les mesures de protections concernant les responsables politiques, institutionnels et religieux nationaux, y compris le Patriarche copte orthodoxe, Tawadros II.
Le Patriarche Tawadros II continue néanmoins à exercer son ministère pastoral.
Ces jours derniers, des indiscrétions journalistiques avaient fait allusion à de possibles préparations d’attentats préparés visant à éliminer le Patriarche copte orthodoxe.
Déjà à l’été 2013, pour des raisons de sécurité, Tawadros II avait dû suspendre ses traditionnelles catéchèses du mercredi. Son nom figurait en effet en tête d’une liste de quelques dizaines de personnes « à éliminer » découverte en août de cette année-là dans une enveloppe anonyme à l’intérieur d’une mosquée du Caire.
