Le sujet revient fréquemment dans les débats internes au Front national. Marine Le Pen et sa garde rapprochée (Florian Philippot, Steeve Briois,…) aimeraient lancer un nouveau parti, abandonnant le nom Front National au profit d’une appellation nouvelle qu’ils pensent être plus rassembleuse. Mais en abandonnant le nom, la présidente du FN n’a-t-elle pas aussi l’intention d’abandonner les idées du parti fondé par son père ?
Il se confirme que le FN compte envoyer à ses adhérents un questionnaire après le Congrès du parti prévu fin novembre à Lyon. Floran Philippot a déclaré à ce sujet : « Marine Le Pen a évoqué la possibilité que parmi les questions soumises aux adhérents, il y ait une question sur le changement de nom« .
Mais cette métamorphose crée un malaise chez ceux qui ont construit le FN. Bruno Gollnisch ne trouve aucune bonne raison qui justifierait que le Front National abandonne « une marque en train de gagner. Il serait décent de la part de ceux qui bénéficient de ce patrimoine de ne pas le renier« .
Jean-Marie Le Pen, fondateur et président d’honneur du Front National, est farouchement hostile à un changement de nom. Déjà en 2013, lorsque Marine avait déclaré que le sujet n’était « pas un tabou », son père avait répliqué : « C’est complètement débile, c’est scandaleux, c’est indécent. Le changement de nom du FN est impensable« .
Mais il n’est plus un secret pour personne que Jean-Marie et Marine Le Pen connaissent de nombreux désaccords, tant sur le fond que sur la forme. En changeant le nom du parti, Marine Le Pen se débarrasserait aussi du président d’honneur…
On doute cependant que Jean-Marie Le Pen supporte sans réagir un tel affront.
