Suède – Une femme suédoise de 36 ans est la première femme a donner naissance à partir d’un utérus transplanté, a annoncé samedi le journal médical britannique The Lancet.
Cette femme, née sans utérus suite à maladie génétique, a pu, à partir d’un utérus greffé, donner naissance à un enfant de 1,7 kg, en bonne santé, après 31 semaines de grossesse. L’utérus transplanté provenait d’une femme de 61 ans, ménopausée depuis sept ans quand elle a été opéré.
Cette femme, née sans utérus suite à maladie génétique, a pu, à partir d’un utérus greffé, donner naissance à un enfant de 1,7 kg, en bonne santé, après 31 semaines de grossesse. L’utérus transplanté provenait d’une femme de 61 ans, ménopausée depuis sept ans quand elle a été opéré.
La mère a quitté l’unité néonatale trois jours après la naissance et le bébé après dix jours. Les deux sont en bonne santé.
Ce «succès» des chercheurs s’appuie sur plus de 10 années de recherche intensive sur des animaux et de formation chirurgicale de l’équipe.
Cette expérimentation est présentée comme la possibilité de traiter un certain nombre de jeunes femmes dans le monde qui souffrent d’infertilité utérine, a expliqué le professeur Mats Brännström, spécialiste en obstétrique et gynécologie à l’Université de Göteborg, et qui a dirigé la recherche.
« Nous avons démontré la faisabilité de l’utérus greffé à partir d’un donneur vivant, bien que ménopausé», a ajouté Brännström.

Mais on ne peut s’empêcher de penser à la suite, car même si cette première médicale peut nous réjouir, elle ouvre une porte terrible. A quand un transgenre né homme donnant naissance à un enfant après la greffe d’un utérus ?
