Avec un peu de retard, la diplomatie française a publié un communiqué pour condamner l’ultimatum des djihadistes aux chrétiens de Mossoul:
« La France condamne avec la plus grande fermeté l’ultimatum lancé par l’Etat islamique aux chrétiens de Mossoul. Il s’agit d’une nouvelle illustration de la véritable nature de cette organisation terroriste.
Ces menaces intolérables démontrent l’urgence qu’il y a à recréer en Irak les conditions d’un dialogue politique inclusif, rassemblant l’ensemble des communautés, afin de faire face aux défis qu’affronte le pays.
Nous sommes mobilisés pour que les droits des communautés chrétiennes d’Orient soient respectés. La France défend, partout dans le monde, la liberté de religion ou de conviction. »
