Un représentant des milices locales de l’État de Borno au Nigeria annoncé aujourd’hui le retour de 63 des 68 femmes et filles retenues en otage depuis le 16 juin à la suite d’une série d’attaques attribuées au groupe islamiste Boko Haram, dans le village de Kummabza, dans le district de Damboa. Elles ont profité de l’absence de leurs ravisseurs pour s’enfuir. Ces derniers étaient alors aux prises avec l’armée nigériane. Vendredi soir, des heurts ont en effet opposé les islamistes à l’armée, après une attaque des insurgés à Damboa, au cours desquels 53 islamistes ont été tués, selon l’armée. Ce récent rapt aurait été caché par le gouvernement pour éviter un nouvel emballement médiatique international. Au moins 200 lycéennes, enlevées le 14 avril, manquent toujours à l’appel.
