Dernièrement le sociologue et essayiste québécois, classé ‘conservateur’, Mathieu Bock-Côté, est reçu dans de nombreuses émissions françaises à l’occasion de la sortie de son livre L’empire du politiquement correct. Les médias au collier se l’arrachent dans un mouvement d‘engouement-detestation, dans le vain espoir de le clouer au pilori, lui et ses idées politiquement incorrectes.
Sa fréquente présence sur les plateaux télé, audimat oblige, démontre en tout cas à quel point le thème du ‘politiquement correct ‘ intéresse particulièrement les Français.
« Le politiquement correct, écrit-il dans son ouvrage, est reconnaissable à travers son rapport au langage. On le sait depuis Orwell : qui veut contrôler la pensée contrôle d’abord les mots pour l’exprimer. » Des mots que Matthieu Bock-Côté s’est réapproprié, avec maestria et une verve toute québécoise…
