Aujourd’hui, c’est bien le Linceul qui défie la science moderne, et non l’inverse. Comment cette empreinte s’est-elle constituée ? La science n’apporte ni réponse ni hypothèse de réponse. Aucune imitation n’a pu à ce jour être réalisée de façon satisfaisante, même avec les moyens les plus perfectionnés.
Or, vérité scientifique et vérité spirituelle ne peuvent entrer en contradiction. L’étude du Linceul en témoigne et montre que la vérité spirituelle englobe, dépasse et maîtrise la vérité scientifique et conduit l’esprit spéculatif devant les mystères de Dieu. Tout comme Jésus Lui-même, le Saint Linceul est un signe de contradiction spécifiquement adapté à notre époque férue de science. La contradiction ne se situe donc pas entre la science et la Foi. Elle est portée au cœur des incroyants qui, au nom de la science, se refusent à Dieu et qui, pour cela, se trouvent acculés à trahir la science elle-même, comme ce fut le cas en 1988 lors de la calamiteuse tentative de datation par le C14.
