Le porte-parole du Pentagone, l’amiral John Kirby, a confirmé ce vendredi que 400 militaires américains seraient chargés à partir du mois de mars de commencer à former des rebelles syriens anti-Assad. Officiellement, ces 400 instructeurs de l’armée des Etats-Unis, accompagnés de nombreux personnels auxiliaires, se rendront en Syrie afin d’aider les rebelles à combattre l’Etat islamique.
Selon le site d’information DefenceOne, Washington attendrait de ses partenaires qu’ils fournissent également des instructeurs pour la bonne cause des rebelles syriens « modérés » à la fois anti-Assad et anti-Etat islamique.
Au vu des résultats de la politique étrangère et militaire américaine depuis le 11 septembre 2001, le pari est plutôt risqué…
