Aujourd’hui est un jour tout à fait unique dans l’histoire de l’Eglise et donc de l’humanité.
Le 25 mars, soit 9 mois avant Noël, les catholiques fêtent l’Annonciation, c’est à dire la commémoration de l’annonce faite à Marie qu’elle porterait le Sauveur. C’est le mystère de l’Incarnation qui est célébré.
En cette année 2016, cette fête coïncide avec le Vendredi Saint au cours duquel l’Eglise revit la Passion et la Mort du Christ, se rappelant avec douleur le prix de notre Rédemption.
Cette année donc, l’Incarnation et la Rédemption se retrouvent exceptionnellement réunies pour être célébrées le même jour. Cet événement, qui se reproduira la prochaine fois en 2157, donne lieu à un jubilé au Puy-en-Velay dont il a déjà été fait mention sur MPI.
Le 25 mars, c’est aussi la date anniversaire de la mort de Mgr Lefebvre. Et 2016 est plus encore : celle des 25 ans de sa mort.
Ainsi, au jubilé officiel de la Miséricorde conciliaire répondent deux autres jubilés. L’un est celui de l’évêque fidèle, qui s’éleva avec force contre les erreurs de son époque et, par un acte héroïque (les sacres de 1988) assura la sauvegarde du sacerdoce catholique et par là, de la Tradition toute entière.
En ces temps de confusion générale, la Providence nous offre, par ce clin d’œil délicat, un réconfort pour nos âmes. Le salut est dans le Christ, la fidélité à celui-ci se trouve dans la Tradition. Mgr Lefebvre ? Un phare pour l’Eglise, un phare pour notre temps.
