Canada – Jeudi, les militants pro-vie ont planté 100 000 petits drapeaux, la moitié d’entre eux est rose pour symboliser les filles, et l’autre moitié bleue pour les garçons. Ils forment un tapis coloré dans l’herbe sur 400 mètres le long de la rue Wellington en face de la colline du Parlement à Ottawa.
Attendez-vous à voir bientôt des opérations du même genre dans les capitales provinciales du Canada.
Les drapeaux ont été plantés tôt le matin par des militants du groupe pro-vie WeNeedaLAW.ca , et récupérés à la fin de l’après-midi.
« Les drapeaux ont tout à voir avec la conscience », a déclaré le porte-parole de l’organisation, Mike Schouten, notant que 100.000 est «approximativement» le nombre d’avortements réalisés chaque année au Canada.«Nous envoyons un message aux parlementaires d’adopter une loi pour protéger les bébés à naître ».
Mike Schouten souligne que la réaction des passants a été «plutôt positive» et a permis «beaucoup de bonnes conversations». « Quand vous voyez cette mer de drapeaux et que vous réalisez que chaque drapeau représente une vie, vous ne pouvez pas rester insensible ».
Mike Schouten a déclaré que la manifestation a également pour but d’encourager les nombreuses personnes pro-vie d’Ottawa à maintenir fermement leurs points de vue et à travailler pour des lois qui protègent la vie.
