Ilhan Omar, politicienne d’origine somalienne mais naturalisée américaine, membre de la Chambre des Représentants du Minnesota et élue avec le Parti Démocrate, a une étrange manière de remercier son pays d’accueil. Récemment elle a invité les musulmans, ses coreligionnaires, à « déchaîner l’enfer aux États-Unis » et à « créer un malaise au sein de la population », rapporte le Washington Times.
Une intervention qui a toutes les caractéristiques du hate-speech et qui a suscité de nombreuses réactions négatives parmi les Américains. Certains y voient une incitation déguisée au terrorisme.
Ilhan Omar a lancé son admonition choc de la scène du Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) durant une collecte de fond à Los Angeles. Le CAIR est une association connue pour avoir été insérée dans la Black List des Émirats Arabes en 2014 à cause de ses liens avec les Frères Musulmans. Plusieurs fois elle a été décrite comme un soutien du groupe palestinien Hamas.
Omar a ensuite ajouté :
« Parce que voici la vérité, voici la vérité : pendant trop longtemps, nous avons vécu avec la gène d’être des citoyens de seconde zone et franchement j’en ai assez et chaque musulman de ce pays devrait en avoir assez. »
La congressiste américaine d’origine somalienne n’a pas perdu non plus l’occasion d’attaquer le président Donald Trump, l’accusant de diffuser de la haine envers l’islam. Elle a été jusqu’à sous-entendre qu’il était en partie coupable pour l’attentat contre la mosquée de Christchurch en Nouvelle-Zélande.
Mais puisque madame Omar trouve que les États-Unis ne sont pas assez accueillants envers la femme musulmane qu’elle est, elle peut toujours envisager de retourner dans son pays natal, la Somalie. Gageons qu’elle y sera reçue avec beaucoup d’amabilité et de considérations…
